Server Maintenance
Our servers are operated and maintained by our hosting partner Names(co).
An important, yet frequently overlooked consideration when choosing an Internet Service Provider (ISP), is the quality and physical location of its network infrastructure.
Our partner network has been designed from the ground up for maximum resilience and redundancy, physically spread across multiple UK data centres.
The combination of redundancy and state-of-the-art monitoring, backed up by on-site staffing 24 hours a day, ensures our customers’ websites and servers remain on-line around the clock, throughout the year.
Network Overview
The network has been built and deployed using state of the art Cisco Routers by our partners own in-house network administration team. Utilising redundant fibre based connections and multiple sites, we now have over 5Gbps of uncontended transit connections and peering links.
As part of the continuous improvement programme, Namesco been building a brand new data centre in Reading. A lot of research and development has gone into building this state-of-the-art facility.
Namesco decided to embark on this major project to enable them to provide stable and reliable hosting solutions at the highest of levels. They have now completed a major server migration project and over the last 12 months have migrated servers in stages to minimise the effects to our customers’ services.
The new names.co.uk data centre site is a 50,000 square foot facility located in the heart of the Thames Valley, near to the Green Park technology area. The phase 1 build has 10,400 square foot split over 2 data halls.
